Hello folks, just cruising around your website. WOW it looks great. Wanted to remind everyone that the state points race is going to be in Anaconda on June 12 and 13. Also there will be 2 races on June 12 with the second one being a guaranteed payout of $1000 to win. Hope to see you all there, we cant wait to make the trip to Malta in August.
Thanks guys and stay safe.

Rich Do you guys use a tire drag for track prep? If you do could you send some pics. We would like to build one here to better our surface. Thanks Rick

<---outta the loop. I had never heard of dragging old tires around on the track to put some rubber down. At the very least, I like the idea of getting some use outta stuff that plugs up the landfill. Any pictures of the device? I poked around but didn't find any. Must work like a giant cheese grater.

Nope not a cheese grater. It uses old retired slicks or dirt track tires. Its mounted on the back of a tractor kind of like a blade (sort of) with down pressure the tires are pushed down on the track. Usually used after the VHT is applied. Just another tool to get that optimum traction we have at the fastest track in Montana. Rick

sounds cool. Can't wait to see one of them.
Can we drag old passenger car tires? Or must it be race related rubber?

The guys in Minor drag a huge tire, earth mover size, on the track. Maybe they'll jump in here and be more specific about any other trick there are to it.

That drag is our new one and it works great, but we made one change since the picture. We no longer use the barrel full of water since the 3 point hitch gives us the ability to vary the downward pressure.
One more thing, we only use racing slicks for the rubber we lay down.

So guys now that we see what Minot uses, which is nothing more than a box grader. Does anybody know where one is that we can get and convert over to tire drag? Thanks Rick

Hello Folks, Sorry havnt been on in a while but the minot one is comparable to ours. We have our tires on the front of a tractor to where they pull theres. Use only slicks, old tractor, car tires will tear up the track more than help. See you tonight all.
