All right! It it getting dirty now. The people that don't hear so good heard that Wilkins broke into Doc's shop and made off with his Tune-Up book and some pistons. I also heard from the same reliable source that Doc had the guy that flowed Dons fuel system screw it up. So maybe the break in was justified. I don't know what to think.
It's just a race guys. Settle down!
I also heard one of them contacted Starkey about a special compound to soak his tires in. I heard that Starkey is trying to get some more life out of his tires cause his tire budget is a little short. Maybe some flowers will help.
I will post more info as I hear it.

Whoa now Stevie, that was an alleged contact, you have no proof. I won't be no part of an illegal race between those two. Don called me yesterday and said he had been talking to the wheely king about some sort of miracle potion that he had been mixing with his fuel, he was guaranteed a win with it. He also was told it had a smell of roses. Can that be teched. I hope Denny and Don are aware of this stuff so that it will be a fare race. Rick Flowers won't buy tires.

Just heard that Don hired a professional tuner from the big leagues. Also he is getting a clutch specialist for the race from one of the top NHRA teams. Hope he realizes it is an IHRA track and there is a steep learning curve when converting from NHRA to IHRA.
Doc not to be outdone brought in some scientist guy to analyze his "fuel mix". Also heard he was running some special air in his tires. Heard that Starkey has been retained as the tire specialist in charge. Rick knows the nuances of the track surface especially during high horsepower applications (buick). John Carnahan was undecided which camp he would work with as their "Hemi" Guru, since both are now heavily sponsored by Mopar due to the fact they are running Hemis.
Gets weirder and weirder.

Thanks guys for the heads up. Just got my silver inspectors certificate this week so I will be able to arbitrate in some of these matters. Using the durometer test, along with the aged formula we should be able to detect any tire modification to the molecular structure table. We had already had a tip on the Starkey problem. He may have to use his "special compound" to soak something else. I just hope we can work through this and that everybody can just get along. DanO

This just in. Talked to Doc and he said he was running his ultra lightweight special aerodynamic body. Matter of fact he just got it back from the "wind tunnel" at some undisclosed location. I think Don better look at how much his rear wing is tipped for downforce. Maybe he won't run the wing at all. Is that even legal. Need some technical expertise here.

HOT OFF THE PRESS Austin Coil is headed to Doc's camp after having a special request from him. He was quoted as saying "We don't need no stinkin silly compounds to beat Wilkins"
I later called Don on this issue and he is still pondering. ;D

That would make sense seeing how the Big Boy's are on the Western Swing and headed to Seattle the national event. I wonder how much that is gonna cost Doc, unless maybe Austin Coil or Force owed him a favor.

Just found out that the Tune-up book Don swiped was the Big Block Chevy book. Wont work on a Hemi . Also heard IHRA was called to arbitrate the feud but declined to step in. Said " This is a cage match, a local track issue. We don't worry about these things. So we will possibly need John Canahan to settle it. I say let them battle it out on "Sunday, Sunday, Sunday" (a quote from Dan Nissan) and let Kirkwood pick up the pieces. Let the best man (cheater) win.
Also, some non-descript individual was in the store today to have a Nitrous bottle flled. Paid cash, didn't want a receipt. Strange, Very Stange. I wonder if it is connected.
As always I will post more as I make it up, I mean hear it.

video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-3766022988582599137This is why don wants to get Austin in his camp..... notice the word doc in the link!!! Kind of hits home, junk is what we do. I understand the war, and John knows his vacuum cleaners. Starkey is our track dreamer, I must be trying too hard, too many reds..!!
