Ok now that the 09 season is over whats everybody have planned for next year? I planning a t-brake and a possible box for the tube car. Oh and a new starter ring and starter gear (again). The other is getting a new rear carrier and different gears and a little something else. If we get a street class it should work for it. ;D Later Rick

White Civic,New fuel system, from the fuel tank to the injectors, every last piece. No wiring or plumbing in the car past the dash, all tail and brake etc gone. Headlights gone, blinker stalk, gone. No fuel, nothing back there. New cams, head and turbo. Want to build a proper dash and inner door panels. New transmission with a more favorable 3rd and 4th gear. Try and lighten the car 75-100 pounds. and set it up with wifi so I don't have to physically connect to talk to the car. I don't know if that's possible yet, but I've been wondering about it. Red Civic, (haven't raced it in Malta yet)Street car on 92 octane pump gas. traction bar, new battery and wiring, install a subwoofer. A Civic without a subwoofer is like mashed potatoes without gravy... and get a cert on the cage. Like to see it dip a low 8 if possible.
Blue Civic,
Like to sell this car and get a chassis that matches the red and white car, so I have parts interchangeability. If anybody is looking for a dialed 8.90 car, let me know. Ran 13.66@101 in Oregon. Still street legal, kinda.

I only made it to the track once in the old yeller chevy. It's been sitting four years while we did the Jr dragster thing. After posting a dismal 9.30 I tore the engine apart and rebuilt it. Unfortunately it was completed after the last race so I never got a real chance to test drive the cylinder head porting Neil did. Looking for the low 8's like it used to.
Any thoughts on new rear end gears to make this truck a strictly 1/8 mile rig? I have 4.11 now and was thinking about 4.88 or even 5.13. I found a calculator on the net and the top speed would be about 90 MPH in third gear, but I'd get there pretty quick I think for a 3800 lb small block. Would dropping to 26" slicks be a better fix?

What are you considering to be the "redline"? And dropping to 26" from what? how big a 26? What's the suspension? Any power adders? How much horsepower to feel you're gonna have?

I run 28 x 10.5's. About 375 HP and only spin it at 5500 rpm, all throttle, no bottle. Stock trailing arm, coil suspension. My best ET's are on my profile. I have a turbo 400 and only use second gear at the end of the 1/8th mile. I only cruise around town with it so highway speed and MPG aren't an issue. I likely won't run 1/4 mile because I have two 1/8th mile tracks to go to. The best I have been able to figure is running 26 x 10.5's with 4.88 gears. Then I could put on the 28's if I ever wanted to 1/4 mile again.

Haven't decided for sure what to do for next season. I've unboxed and re-boxed my nitrous kit 3 times so far this winter, not sure if it's fear or common sense. Probably just spend some time on the dyno and maybe a bit more clutching and suspension work for next year. ;D
