Anyone need a Chassis Certifications I can do them. I have my own sonic tester and all of the IHRA chassis tags. So if anyone over there needs it done or if there is a group of you let me know .We can do them all at once.

I was just thinking as Malta is IHRA, if you did both, you might not have mentioned it. Good resource to have, and know a dude that can do it.

Did you mean to say they won't accept IHRA certs? or they won't actually accept NHRA certs? Do you know if there Is there an 1/8 mile cert number they want to see if you're NHRA cert'd to 8.50?

Speaking of, I was talking to Carnahan on the weekend and he mentioned that there will be someone doing NHRA certs at the July Race. Forgot to ask him what day or time this was happening, anyone know?

That makes no sense whatsoever, to not accept NHRA certs. Jon O'Neil the division director of IHRA told us at Malta that they would accept NHRA certs. NHRA on the other hand won't accept IHRA certs.

Minot is a IHRA track you figure it out figure out why they won't accept a more stringent and accepted certification? That err's more on the side of caution? Don't know that I can understand that rationale. It doesn't pertain to me particularly, I'll never reach those IHRA ET's. But I am curious. Maybe the IHRA cert guy from the Minot area can chime in. In my situation, I am curious why my red car with an 8.50 NHRA cert moly chassis would not be okay to run on an IHRA track where they don't even require a cert until 150mph? car is likely right at 10.90@138. Maybe, as it pertains to my situation (remember, it's always just about me! ), it's not that they don't recognize the NHRA cert, just that I don't require an IHRA cert, so maybe it's okay until that car hits 150mph. Thank goodness a basic roll bar and one door bar is good to 149mph. Let that speed sink in for a few seconds... 149mph on a bar, or 135mph for a cage with the NHRA. As best I understand it. I'm happy to be wrong. Because I truly do not know the exactness of it. It's generally believed on the various racing communities that NHRA is the gold standard and IHRA the exception based on looser (read that loftier) minimum requirements. as in 9.00 or 150mph for IHRA versus 9.99 or 135mph for NHRA. I'd need a Buick for that 150mph kind of action. (speed dials Starkey for THEE setup...) maybe it's a track thing where they can pick and choose who's cert to accept. I suppose that's fair. Frankly, I've never understood why we don't just have a mph number for a cage and that's it. 9.20@175mph is infinitely more risk than 8.80@145mph. the math for energy is (mass x the square of velocity). As I understand the math, the 175 mph car has 7 times more kinetic energy than the 145mph car if both weigh 2500#. It's the square of velocity. 7 times more energy to be dispersed through less cage. I'm just here to say, that I appreciate that the IHRA is working with our local track, darn lucky to have those boys on board... However, make my cert NHRA please. Dunno. I'm just crap talkin'. Well, except for the needing the Buick thing... that might be legit. I just do what the voices tell me.

+1, we could also check with our local guy Neil O'stahl. He seems up on that.
