So here's the deal, and it's a head scratcher. The sport compact guys have been tickling the 8.50 and 180 mph limits of an 8.50 cage cert. The Sport compact fall nationals are at Englishtown this weekend and going on right now. The fastest cars from our country and some from other countrys are all there. It's the big show. the situation. Most places have a 2 strikes policy on most rules infractions, like a cage cert. First time you blow cert, you get a warning. Second time, you get disqualified from the event and can't run anymore. #1 qualifier, Miller ran an 8.4@181, and was called to the tower.. That's his first warning, one more and he's out. 4-5 other guys are "right there" but haven't crossed the line. Miller can't run any faster in tomorrows eliminations or he gets tossed during eliminations and can't continue. IF he makes it to the finals against somebody else "without" a warning, that person can run anything they can below 8.50 and all is well. Miller runs anything faster than 8.50 he's dq'd against guys that can. AND, if you're allowed 2 infractions, is it a DQ in the final if you've already run 1? IT's quite a debate on the forums.

The cut to make the 16 car field in "all Motor", which means no turbo, no nitrous, etc. was a 10.80
Some guy named "pepsi" now owns the record for this class at 10.1
So far nobody in "All Motor" anywhere on the planet has had to cert a cage of get an NHRA license. He may be the first to get that honor.
