Our family played our version of NHRA points system last year and had a blast. If you have a DVR it works much better and you can play any day of the week if you happen to be busy on Sunday. Here's what we came up with. Please edit to suit your needs.
BTW: Racing starts this weekend!!!
* Select an over all yearly driver in each category except motorcycle.
* Pick a driver for that weekend's races.(Can be the same driver as above)
* If your overall pick (yearly) does not qualify that weekend, you lose 10 pts right off the top.
* Each time your driver wins a round that weekend you get 5 pts.
* If your weekend driver wins the class, you get 25 pts.
* Each race you pick a driver. If they win that race you get 1 pt.
* Drivers must be picked prior to the green light.
* You can pick a different driver for the single race than you did when you selected at the beginning for the weekend races. For example: You pick John Force to win FC, but when it's his turn to race Ashley, you pick her instead. If John wins you still get the 5 pts. If Ashley wins you get 1. If you stick with John you get 6 pts. 5+1=6.
* If you get lucky and pick the year's end winner, you get 100pts added to your annual score. (This is in each class.)
* You can also get 1/2 pts for picking right or left lane wins.(This is optional and can be set before the races start. You'd get a 1/2 pt for each race won in, let's say you picked the left lane for the weekend, for all wins in that lane.)
* Total points in all three rounds at the end of the year determine the "home points" winner.
So, what do you think? Please add to the list.
