Hi Guys, I was in Malta for the Big Money race on the 25th, just to watch since my car isn't quite ready. I couldn't believe the number of red lights there was during eliminations. Seemed the win in almost half of the pairings was decided by red lights, even in the box class. It wasn't much fun watching that many races that were decided right on the line and probably really no fun for the racers either. This is the first Malta race I had been to this year, and I was just wondering if this is normal for this track or was there something out of adjustment in the timing equipment? It is hard to believe that many racers would be that poor on the tree, especially since many of them had the day before to practice.

That's the nature of a big payout in action. you have to push harder than you normally would. Hi Guys, I was in Malta for the Big Money race on the 25th, just to watch since my car isn't quite ready. I don't think its the equipment. The sensors are somewhat permanet. They are bolted to the concrete surface, and are covered by a steel box. Unless someone physically moved them.... Like Bob said heat of the battle. Rick

Data doesn't support anything out of the ordinary, or there would have been red lights in every round, and there were none as the better drivers in EVERY class show below. box super pro, Sunday September 25th. 17 redlights for the whole day including time trials in the morning. and only 7 in eliminations. 62pairings, 124 passes. 13% for the day. 60 pairings for the rest of eliminations, only 11% redlight as they got more tuned in. Box proRound 1, had 5 Round 2, had 2 Round 3, none Round 4, none Round 5, none No box22 redlights in the first round of 96 passes. 22%missing the 2nd round eliminations, no data for that. round 3, had 3 round 4, had 2 round 5, none. round 6, none. No box dudes. 252 passes on Sunday (126 pairings) 6 LB3A about 45 redlight all day, 21% of passes had a redlight on that day as a whole. this was weeded to none by the semi's and finals. Junior, lightning.Round 1, had 4 Round 2, had 1 Round 3, none Round 4, none Junior, thunder.Round 1, had 1 Round 2, had 1 Round 3, had 1 Round 4, none As an example of the data you see on sunday, 4 passes, N. Markuson. You can see him working on his dial until he goes to far. a) .5532 b) .3315 c) .0008 d) -.2641 D. Olson (dave, not dan) and looks like having a tough day of it. a) LB3A b) .2053 c) -.3237 Here's how the winner's day went for reaction time. Neil Stahl a) -.0016 b) .0129 c) .0074 d) .0274 e) .0095 f) .0118 g) .0055 s carnahan, lots redlights on Saturday as well. a) -.0033 b) -.0350 c) .0100 d) -.0264 None of the semi finals or finals were determined by redlight. Looks like the better drivers won. I was more impressed to not see Dan posting up a bunch of redlights... For a while there, I was of the impression he had gotten a case of red bulbs on sale and was hoping to use them up before they got stale. what happened there?

Good research Bob. I helped install all the sensors, drilled the holes, and then watched and helped Rusty set every sensor. Not saying I'm an expert but that system as for as the sensors go is rock solid. Unless they get physically moved by someone or something and then if that happens then the sensor won't read. If that sensor won't read then the next down track sensor won't read either. Bob's got the proof. Rick
