Could someone please tell me why in ET bracket racing the cars need to be laddered during eliminations? Must be a good reason. Maybe easier for the folks in the tower to keep track of things? In the old days we just raced whoever lined up beside us. Sure was a lot simpler for racers, than trying to get lined up to an asigned car, flip for lane choice, etc. Seems like the car you are laddered with is never in a hurry to line up either.

the main reason is the more experienced racers would try and line up with a new and inexperienced racer for an easier win. also it stops people from hanging to the back of the bracket to try and get a bye run in an uneven field. the ladder determines the bye.
